Uxmal with the largest group yet!

A new chapter in the wild and wacky world of William Lawson and his fun, informative and always interesting tours was written today as 13 (thirteen!) happy campers from the Carnival Elation - or maybe it was the Ecstasy; in any case it was a happy name - enjoyed a day trip to Uxmal and back.

First stop, Uman market. Bustling tricycles, smiling pigs heads in the meat section, plenty of colorful flowers, fruit and vegetables and aromatic spices abound there and it is always worth a stop to poke around. We also visited the large church.

Second stop, Uxmal. Demitrio, one of the official guides whose turn it was to give the tour, gave us the 1 hour abridged version of Uxmal history and pointed out all the good stuff. For the teens, the mating iguanas made their day.

Stop three, El Cerro de Muna. Here we took some photos, peeked into Pedros gift shop and just enjoyed the view before...

Last stop: Cenote. Here we had a whole cenote to ourselves as there was no one else anywhere around and everyone splashed around happily in the crystal clear water.

After that, back to Progreso and the happy ship. It would appear that a good time was had by all!
